The inspiration for this project stemmed from the founder of Oliveda's personal experience with olive tree therapy. The brand's story is reflected in every aspect of the design, presented in the style of a diary with thoughts, notes, and valuable personal statements about the product. What may initially appear chaotic, in fact, portrays a strong, clear message.
The Hydroxytyrosol Corrective range stands out with its brown apothecary jars and bottles transformed into elegant objects with black labels and metallic copper-coloured design elements. All parts of the packaging are produced in Germany, with the boxes being paper-based with a matte foil finish. The labels are printed on silver foil with a euroscale and white coated colour for the metallic copper effect, also finished with matte foil for protection against moisture and a soft touch.
The range includes eight products, with three facial care sets/kits boxes. The labels are designed for a long life consumer experience, being waterproof for the bathroom and robust for daily use. The design process started at the end of 2015 in Berlin, with the first product launched in 2016 and the last item of the range launched at the end of 2018.
The design of the packaging posed a great challenge in terms of creating a brand image for a modern product that sets itself apart from the many other olive-based cosmetic products out there. At the same time, it was necessary to stress the healing powers of olive trees with high-tech and lifestyle attributes. The result is a look that has already established itself as the OLIVEDA style, thanks to the handwriting of Jelena Samutin herself.
The new packaging design radiates naturalness, style, ancient healing knowledge, and modern practicality. It is a testament to Samutin's ability to create a design that is both customer-friendly and authentic, while staying true to the brand's roots. This design is a shining example of how packaging can tell a brand's story, making it a deserving winner of the prestigious Golden A' Packaging Design Award in 2019.
